Veteran wreath laying ceremony held at local cemeteries

The local DAR chapter sponsored a wreath laying ceremony this year honoring local veterans. The effort was spear headed by Carolanne Nichols, District Director of the Wataseka District and by Lana Forrest, Regent of the Captain Robert Abernethy Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Regent Lana Forrest was the chairperson for the project and laid the first wreath. Twenty six wreaths were sold this year at $15.00 each. Most were placed on veteran’s graves in Warren’s Oakland Cemetery. Some were placed in other cemeteries in the area.
