Update in theft cases involving local heating and air man

WARREN, Ark. – More information has been released in court filings in the alleged theft of property charges against local heating and air man, Daniel(Danny) Ray Cook of Warren.

According to the court filings in the 10th Circuit Court, Division 4, Cook is being charged by the District’s prosecuting attorney Thomas Deen, with two separate counts of a class D felony theft of property, with the items taken in excess of $1,000 in value.

The first charged count states that on or about July 22 to July 24, 2022, Cook “did knowingly take or exercise unauthorized control of the property of Donnie Bryant valued in excess of $1,000 with the purpose to deprive the owner thereof.”

The second charged count alleges that Cook committed the same crime again on or about July 27 to July 28, 2022 by “knowingly” taking or exercising “unauthorized control of the property of Gannaway Drug Store valued in excess of $1,000 with the purpose to deprive the owner thereof.

Both felony counts are punishable by imprisonment for not more than six years, as well as a fine not to exceed $10,000.

Cook’s attorney, Robert G. Bridewell filed a standard Motion for Discovery this past Tuesday, October 4.

No court date is currently listed in the filings.

Cook was arrested Wednesday, August 3, 2022 by the Warren Police Department.
