Joshua Gannaway, 70, of Colorado, Springs, Colorado, formerly of Banks, died May 25, 2023. Born May 15, 1953, he was a son of Quinnie and Orvelett Gannaway.
He married Lizzie Mae Trotter on December 13, 1975. The matrimony lasted a beautiful 44 years before she gained her wings in 2020. To this union two daughters were born.
Joshua served in the Air Force as a Tech Sergeant for 22 years and became a civil servant employee for ACS for 18 plus years. He was a referral manager for servicemen who were transitioning back to civilian life.
Military life afforded Joshua to tour many parts of the world: England, Philippines, Korea, Guam, Amsterdam, Greece, Turkey and Germany.
He was a member of Bountiful Blessings Church of God in Christ, Colorado Springs, serving as president of the Deacon’s board, chief financial officer, building/ground maintenance person, pastor’s aid president, chief records keeper, to name a few.
Joshua loved his family beyond measure. He loved to see his kin folk come together to have a great time, organizing family reunions were a true passion of his.
He is survived by his daughters, Mondisa Gannaway, Latoya Gannaway; granddaughter, Mahogany; sisters, Earnestine Harden (Fred), Earnestine Ingram, Nettie Davis (Bob), Betty Edwards (Roy), Glenda Hines; sisters-in -law, Felecia Morris (Dexter), Linda Faye Coleman (Harry), Pamela Rochell (Jamie); brother-in-law, Kenneth Trotter; special nieces, Bridgett, Karla, Tina, Valerie; special nephews, Charles, Wayne, Gary; friends, Dc Curry, Murray Williams, Thomas and Loretta Williams; a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service was June 17 at Holy Deliverance COGIC in Warren. Burial was in Arkansas Veterans Cemetery, North Little Rock with military honors.
