LITTLE ROCK – In a tough road game following the chaos of the winter weather break from school, the Warren Lady Jack Basketball team faced a challenging matchup against the Mills Comets, ultimately falling 49-36 on Tuesday night, January 23, 2024.

1st Quarter
From the opening tip-off, Mills applied early pressure, securing a 13-point lead by the midway point of the quarter. Despite their efforts, Warren struggled to find the basket, with shots not falling. Bailey Millet managed to score Warren’s first basket with 1:43 on the clock. Mills closed the quarter leading 13-4.
2nd Quarter
The Lady Jacks showed resilience in the second quarter, with Charlee Wardlaw making an impact both underneath the basket and beyond the arc with a three. Aaliyah Walton’s driving jumper added to the offensive effort. Despite the strong second quarter performance, Warren finished the half trailing 22-17.
3rd Quarter
Mills continued to apply pressure in the third quarter, but Wardlaw’s transition basket and three-pointer kept the Lady Jacks within striking distance. Contributions from Livi McKinney and Breize Fellows helped Warren maintain competitiveness. However, Mills maintained the lead at 39-29 heading into the final quarter.

4th Quarter
Breize Fellows and Bailey Miller made significant contributions in the fourth quarter, with Fellows hitting a crucial three-pointer to cut the Mills lead to 7. Despite Miller’s free throw narrowing the gap to 6, Mills pulled away late, securing a 49-36 victory.
Warren now holds a 2-9 overall record and stands at 1-4 in the 8-4A. They look to bounce back in their next game at home against Monticello on Friday, January 26, with tip-off scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
