Road trip to LR Mills ends in defeat for Lumberjacks

LITTLE ROCK – The Warren Lumberjack Men’s Basketball suffered a defeat to the talented Mills Comets Tuesday, January 23, 2024 by the final score of 95-45 on the road in Little Rock.

1st Quarter

In the 1st quarter, Mills quickly jumped out to a 2-0 lead from the tip-off. Antonio Jordan of Warren responded promptly with a jumper, tying the score at 2-2. Despite Jordan’s impressive performance with 10 points in the quarter, Mills managed to build a substantial lead, finishing the quarter with a score of 25-14 in their favor.

2nd Quarter

Mills continued to assert dominance in the 2nd quarter. Their defensive efforts tightened, making it challenging for Warren to find open shots. Tramond Miller contributed with a nice inside basket, but Antonio Jordan remained the standout for Warren, scoring 9 points in the quarter. Nevertheless, Mills extended their lead, and Warren found themselves trailing 59-26 at halftime.

3rd Quarter

The 3rd quarter proved to be a challenging period for the Lumberjacks, with shots still not falling. David Jordan finally secured a bucket at the 5:15 mark, and Antonio Jordan showcased his athleticism with a slam dunk. Despite these efforts, Mills stretched their lead further, finishing the quarter with a commanding 84-40 advantage.

4th Quarter

Entering the 4th quarter, Mills had a firm grip on the game. The final result saw Warren fall to Mills 95-45.

Warren’s overall record now stands at 4-3, with a conference record of 3-2 in the 8-4A Conference. Looking to regroup, the Lumberjacks aim to bounce back in their upcoming home game against Monticello on Friday, January 26. The game is scheduled to tip off immediately after the women’s game, which begins at 5:30 p.m.
