4th Quarter: Defense Holds Strong

Solid defense persisted in the fourth quarter, with Miller making a crucial block. McKinney showcased her scoring ability, and Aaliyah Walton’s steal converted into a basket for Allie Adair. Monticello made a late surge, narrowing the score to 45-44 with 30 seconds left. However, Miller’s two late free throws secured the 47-44 win for Warren.

After the game, Head Coach La Darian Pace expressed her satisfaction, stating, “tonight’s win was big for us.”

“I wanted my girls to see that they have the ability to win more games. When we played Monticello the first time, we were not ready. We were underdeveloped as a team, and our freshmen had just moved up.”

Pace acknowledged the team’s room for improvement, saying, “We made more turnovers and mistakes than I wanted to make tonight, but we are going to correct the errors and keep winning. We are growing together, and that’s what counts.”
