Warren Lady Jacks dominate Crossett in 30-point win

WARREN, Ark. – In a commanding performance, the Warren Lady Jacks finished off the week with a win over the Crossett Lady Eagles, securing a decisive victory with a final score of 55-25 at Lumberjack Arena.

1st Quarter

Crossett initiated the game with an early full-court press, but the Lady Jacks managed it with ease. Livi McKinney set the tone by scoring the first basket for Warren, courtesy of an assist from Breize Fellows. Bayleigh Miller added to the lead with a full-court run and a layup. Crossett managed their first points at the 2:36 mark, but Fellows responded with a late three-pointer. At the end of the quarter, Warren led comfortably at 12-3.

2nd Quarter

Crossett started the second quarter with two consecutive three-pointers. However, Fellows drove into the paint, drew a foul, and converted a three-point play with a successful free throw. With another three-pointer from Fellows with two minutes remaining, the Lady Jacks entered halftime with a commanding 29-13 lead.

3rd Quarter

Aniyah York and Livi McKinney contributed to the Lady Jacks’ dominance in the paint. McKinney, in particular, showcased her scoring prowess with a total of six points in the quarter. At the end of the third quarter, Warren firmly held a 40-22 lead.

4th Quarter

McKinney continued her scoring spree with another basket off a rebound, and Amari Russell added to the lead with a bucket assisted by Miller. The Lady Jacks sealed the game with a final score of 55-25.

Coach La Darian Pace On The Win

Following the game, head coach La Darian Pace expressed her thoughts on the team’s performance:

“This week has been a very challenging week for the girls,” she said. “We really needed the win tonight to help motivate us for what is ahead.” Addressing missing several regular contributors through injury, Pace said “the bench has to keep stepping up so we can finish strong.”

With this victory, the Lady Jacks improved their overall record to 4-12 and now stand at 3-7 in the 8-4A. Their next challenge awaits on the road as they face the Star City Lady Bulldogs on Tuesday, February 6, with tipoff scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
