The Lumberjacks entered the game with an impressive overall record of 7-3-1 and a perfect 5-0 record in Conference play.

The first half saw both teams engage in a back-and-forth battle, with limited scoring opportunities in the initial 15 minutes. However, it was Warren who broke the deadlock in the 30th minute when Miguel Mendoza’s precise free kick found Jacarlos Marquiz, who calmly slotted the ball past Crossett’s keeper, putting Warren ahead 1-0.

Warren’s momentum continued as Alex Bartolo’s bending shot in the 37th minute extended their lead to 2-0 at halftime.

The second half witnessed a flurry of goals from the Lumberjacks. Daniel Castillo capitalized on Marquis’ cross in the 45th minute, making it 3-0 in Warren’s favor. Although Oliver Chavez’s impressive strike hit the crossbar and spun out(it did appear to cross the goal line, but was not awarded), Warren’s dominance was evident as Castillo notched another goal in the 53rd minute, followed by Marquiz’s header in the 55th minute, pushing the scoreline to 5-0.

Crossett managed to pull back with late consolation goals in the 65th and 75th minutes against Warren’s reserves, but it was not enough to overcome the Lumberjacks’ commanding lead.

With the final whistle blowing, Warren emerged victorious with a 5-2 scoreline. This win not only solidified their impressive 7-3-1 overall record but also marked a perfect 6-0 record in the 4A East Conference, earning them the coveted 2024 4A East Conference Championship.

The Lumberjacks will now shift their focus to their upcoming clash against Monticello in the final conference game of the year, aiming to maintain their winning momentum as they head into the postseason.
