Support the New Edinburg Community Center during October 23 BBQ fundraiser

The New Edinburg Community Center will hold its annual fall BBQ fundraiser Saturday, October 23, 2021 beginning at 5:30 p.m.

The Community Center is located at 8590 Hwy 8 in New Edinburg. This is the first fundraiser for the organization in over 18 months since the COVID outbreak halted all events.

According to event volunteers, the BBQ fundraiser will be a drive-through event which will allow visitors to pick up their food without getting out of their vehicle. Tables will also be set up outside for any supporters who wish to eat at the event should the weather cooperate.

Plates will cost $12 and will consist of a BBQ pork sandwich, baked beans, coleslaw, dessert, and a drink.

For more information concerning the BBQ or how you can help, contact Melody Spears at 870-510-6388. The Center’s annual operating budget is between $6500.00 and $7,200.00 each year. The Center operates through rentals, donations, and fundraisers. Due to COVID, all of those funding options were put on hold. That caused a sharp decline in the Center’s operating budget. The Center has a 501 (C) 3 classification, so all donations are tax deductible. The Center would love for you to come out and support the BBQ fundraiser event October 23.
