Barney Alton Howard, age 80 of New Edinburg, Arkansas died Sunday, August 8, 2021 peacefully at home. He was born August 27, 1940 in Bradley County, Arkansas. A son of the late George Howard and Nora Pruitt Howard. He was a retired skidder driver. He was a Baptist. Also preceding him in death was his daughter, Brenda Jean Howard, his brothers, Jesse Howard, Lee Howard, Elmar Howard and Oscar Howard, sister, Katherine Lephiew.
Survivors are his wife, Wilma Jean (Groves) Howard whom he married November 10, 1962, one son, David Howard and spouse Becky of New Edinburg, Arkansas, on daughter, Tonda Braswell and spouse Roger of New Edinburg, Arkansas. Two sisters, Jearlene Thompson of Warren, Arkansas and Birdie Burnett of Monticello, Arkansas. Four grandsons, Scott Braswell, Cody Howard, Colton Howard and Nathan Howard and 15 great-grandchildren.
Graveside was 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at Garrison Cemetery with Bro. David Williams, officiant. Burial was in Garrison Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home.
